Rainy weather to persist over the weekend

Unstable weather will persist in Uzbekistan over the weekend. According to Uzhydromet, intermittent rain is expected across most of the country from May 22–24, with heavy downpours in some areas. There is also a continued risk of thunderstorms.
Weather is expected to be particularly active in foothill and mountainous regions. Rain will be heavy at times, accompanied by thunderstorms. Under these conditions, flash floods and mudslides may occur. Hail is also possible in some areas. Citizens planning trips to mountainous areas are advised to be cautious and monitor weather updates.
While rainy weather will affect most of the country, no precipitation is expected in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region. In the Bukhara and Navoi regions, only short-term, light rain is possible in some areas.
Winds will blow at 7–12 meters per second, with gusts potentially reaching 13–18 meters per second in some areas. Dust storms may occur in the north, desert regions, and southern provinces, which could cause inconvenience for drivers and those working outdoors.
Air temperatures from May 22–24 will range from +13…+18°C at night and +22…+27°C during the day. While there will be no sharp drop in temperature, the rain and wind may make it feel cooler.
In Tashkent, intermittent rain and possible thunderstorms are expected on Friday during the day, with temperatures around +22…+24°C. On May 23, the weather in the capital is expected to be mostly dry, though short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible toward the evening. Daytime temperatures will rise to +25…+27°C.
On May 24, intermittent rain and thunderstorms are forecast again for Tashkent. Daytime temperatures will be around +22…+24°C, and nighttime temperatures around +15…+18°C. Winds will blow from the west at 3–8 meters per second, occasionally gusting to 10–12 meters per second.
In short, the weather in Uzbekistan this weekend is unpredictable. Rain, wind, thunderstorms, and potential hail are expected. Therefore, those planning trips, weddings, walks, or mountain hikes should check the weather forecast in advance. Carrying an umbrella and exercising caution is highly recommended.
