On May 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi. The meeting focused on expanding the strategic partnership between the two countries and deepening cooperation in key areas such as public administration, artificial intelligence, education, and youth policy.
At the beginning of the meeting, the sincere greetings and best wishes of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan were conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan. This once again demonstrated that relations between the two nations are developing based on high political trust and mutual respect.
The meeting noted with satisfaction that the friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates are developing at a rapid pace. In particular, practical cooperation in public administration, digitalization, education, innovation, and youth engagement has significantly intensified in recent years.
The parties highly praised the implementation of the joint 'roadmap' aimed at increasing the efficiency of public administration, reducing bureaucratic barriers, and ensuring the effectiveness of reforms. Such cooperation is crucial for making the activities of state agencies faster, more transparent, and result-oriented.
Cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence was also a key topic of the meeting. The results achieved within the 'One Million Arab Coders' (adapted as 'Five Million AI Leaders') educational program were specifically acknowledged. It was noted that the project has reached over one million participants so far, reflecting the high interest in digital knowledge and modern technologies in Uzbekistan.
This program serves to enhance AI knowledge for youth, civil servants, experts, and the general public. In today's era of global competition, training personnel in the field of AI is not just a simple educational project, but a strategic investment for the future economy.
The issue of further improving the performance evaluation system for state bodies was also discussed. There are plans to involve local government representatives in these processes, ensuring that reforms yield tangible results not only at the central level but also in the regions.
Plans to jointly launch a national reading movement were also discussed. This initiative could serve to strengthen interest in knowledge, books, and intellectual development in society. After all, no matter how much technology develops, a knowledgeable person remains the foundation of a strong society.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation on supporting youth, organizing joint development forums, and preparing strategic and conceptual documents that serve the development of Uzbekistan. These areas are expected to bring relations between the two countries to a more meaningful and practical level in the coming years.
In short, the partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE is not limited to diplomatic dialogue. Concrete projects are being formed in public administration, artificial intelligence, education, youth policy, and strategic development. This is a sign of a future-oriented, result-driven partnership. The direction is clear: less bureaucracy, more innovation, and serious investment in human capital.
