“I will not sing a duet with Yulduz Usmonova because I do not respect her as a person” — Jahongir Otajonov
Famous artist Jahongir Otajonov recently shared his views on duet performances in an interview.
“With whom I will sing a duet, for example, right now no one is performing a song live,” said Jahongir Otajonov. The journalist mentioned Yulduz Usmonova as an example.
“Now, Yulduz Usmonova is a good artist. I have always respected her as a professional,” added Jahongir Otajonov.
The journalist also mentioned Gulsanam Mamazoitova. Otajonov replied:
“We will talk about Gulsanam another time, but Yulduz Usmonova does not satisfy me as a person. That’s why I will not sing a duet with her. And now I cannot say that she is ready to sing with me either.”
Regarding artistic style, he said: “Yes, I like her art. She has performed well so far, so I consider her a good artist. We are artists — we must provide spiritual nourishment to people through our work. If I sang with Yulduz Usmonova, that song would be great, not to earn money, but so that the whole written song gives people spiritual nourishment over many years without them noticing.”
