Famous singer Dua Lipa sues Samsung for unauthorized use of her photo

Famous singer Dua Lipa has filed a lawsuit against Samsung. According to The Guardian, the artist is seeking at least $15 million in damages from the company.
The singer claims that Samsung used her image without authorization in its television advertisements. It has been revealed that images of Dua Lipa were placed on the packaging of certain televisions sold in the U.S. in 2025.
The lawsuit states that the photo was taken backstage at the 2024 Austin City Limits festival and that the rights to the image belong to the singer herself. Dua Lipa stated that she never consented to participate in any Samsung advertising.
The singer accuses the company of copyright infringement, unauthorized use of her likeness, and creating a false impression of a brand partnership. It is also alleged that Samsung attempted to profit commercially from the artist's popularity.
Dua Lipa's lawyers emphasized that the singer is very selective regarding her advertising partnerships. It is noted that she only collaborates with major brands such as Apple, Porsche, Versace, Bvlgari, and Nespresso.
