Russian Football to Return to the International Stage


Russian State Duma Deputy Svetlana Zhurova has emphasized that the return of Russian football teams to the international stage may happen in the near future. According to her, FIFA and UEFA may first begin reintegrating youth, junior, and women's teams into competitions.

"UEFA and FIFA may start allowing our children’s, juniors’, and youth teams to participate in competitions. Permission was also given to our women’s national team, but they were unable to enter the country hosting the tournament," Zhurova stated in an interview with "Match TV."

At the same time, the Secretary General of the Russian Football Union, Maksim Mitrofanov, noted that there have been no developments in negotiations regarding Russia's return. Currently, Russian clubs and national football teams remain barred from participating in international competitions.
