
On December 13, 2025, Uzbekistan's boxers Arman Makhanov, Javohir Ummataliyev, and Turabek Khabibullayev claimed silver medals at the International Boxing Association (IBA) World Championships. The final bouts were intense and challenging, with one match even being stopped after the second round.
In the 80 kg weight category, Javohir Ummataliyev faced Russian boxer Dzambolat Bijamov in the final. After five rounds, the judges unanimously declared the victory for the Russian boxer with a score of 5:0.
Ummataliyev demonstrated consistent performances throughout the competition and secured second place in the tournament. In the 92 kg weight category, Turabek Khabibullayev also earned a silver medal.
In the final, he competed against the experienced Muslim Gadzhimagomedov and was defeated with a score of 0:5. Nevertheless, this result once again confirmed the athlete's high level of skill.
Arman Makhanov also won a silver medal in the World Championships. His final bout was stopped after the second round.
The victory went to Russian boxer David Surov, who claimed the gold medal at the tournament, while Makhanov secured second place, contributing to Uzbekistan's medal tally.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Uzbekistan's national team finished in third place overall. Our athletes won 2 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals, showcasing a high level of preparation and consistent results.
