From February 1, 2026, the operation of vehicles older than 50 years will be prohibited, and they will be removed from state registration. This is stated in the government decree No. 11 "On additional measures for the digitalization of the road safety sector," adopted on February 20.
According to the decree, the "Administrative Practice" module in the information system of the Road Safety Service of the Public Security Department will be integrated into the information systems of the responsible ministries and agencies.
Also, from February 1, 2026:
-trucks with a total weight (including cargo) of more than 44 tons;
-special transport used in mines, shafts, and quarries;
-Unmanned taxis belonging to legal entities;
-State license plates of a separate series are introduced for "antique" motor vehicles.
As another benefit, the requirement to indicate the owner's address in the vehicle registration certificate will be canceled. During the registration process, the purchase and sale agreement, the auction protocol, electronic invoices, and information about the owner are obtained through interdepartmental electronic interaction.
