Japan's HTV-X cargo spacecraft burned up over the Pacific Ocean

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced the successful completion of the HTV-X cargo spacecraft mission. The vehicle entered the dense layers of the atmosphere and burned up over the southern Pacific Ocean. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
This spacecraft is a new generation of Japanese orbital cargo carriers designed to deliver equipment, food, and scientific materials to the International Space Station (ISS). The HTV-X is capable of carrying approximately 4 tons of cargo to orbits between 300 and 500 km.
The vehicle was launched into space in October 2025 from the Tanegashima Space Center using the new H3 heavy-lift rocket. This was an important step for JAXA in testing new technologies.
After detaching from the ISS in March 2026, the spacecraft continued to operate in autonomous mode in orbit. It proved its versatility by launching small satellites and participating in a series of scientific experiments.
