Service Quality in Tashkent Metro Reaches a New Level

New measures have been set to improve passenger service quality, travel comfort, and safety in the Tashkent Metro. A presidential decree on additional measures to increase the efficiency of the Tashkent Metro has been adopted.
In accordance with the decree, it is planned to take the capital's metro passenger transport system to a new level by 2030. One of the main goals is to increase the daily number of passengers to 1.8 million, further strengthening the metro's role in the city's transport system.
By 2030, it is planned to increase the number of metro stations to 79 and the total length of lines to 103 kilometers. Reducing the interval between trains to 2–3 minutes is also a priority, helping to minimize waiting times for passengers.
By the end of 2028, it is planned to install vending machines and small mobile retail units at station entrances and corridors while ensuring passenger safety. This aims to make the metro infrastructure more convenient and modern.
Another important innovation is the establishment of parking lots in front of metro stations and the implementation of a 'Park & Ride' system. This allows passengers to leave their private cars in designated areas and use the metro conveniently.
The system includes discounts on metro tickets for parking users and mechanisms to cover parking fees via metro tickets. This encourages people to leave their cars near the metro and use public transport instead of driving into the city center.
Furthermore, private entrepreneurs will be allowed to engage in safe business activities in metro tunnels and stations through auctions. This will expand service options and create additional convenience within the metro area.
In short, the Tashkent Metro is expected to become not just a transport vehicle, but a modern, comfortable, and multifunctional urban infrastructure in the coming years. Passenger numbers will grow, stations will expand, and intervals will shorten. The metro is moving closer to a 'quick arrival' mode.
