Tashkent Metro to introduce distance-based fares

The Tashkent Metro is planning to change its payment system. Under the new plan, the current flat-rate fare may be abandoned.

The new procedure envisions calculating fares based on the distance traveled or the number of stations. With this system, the cost of travel may depend on the length of the route.

The introduction of daily, weekly, and monthly passes for passengers is also being considered. These passes are expected to provide convenience for regular metro users.

The new payment system is scheduled to be launched on January 1, 2027.
