Golden Globes: “Battle After Battle” wins four awards

At the 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Paul Thomas Anderson’s tragicomedy “Battle After Battle” emerged as the night’s biggest winner. The film took home trophies in four categories: Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical), Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress. Among foreign-language films, the thriller “Secret Agent” by Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho was named the best. Wagner Moura, who played the lead, won Best Actor in a Drama.
For Best Actor (Comedy or Musical), Timothée Chalamet won his first-ever Golden Globe — honored for his performance in “Marty the Magnificent.”
In television, the drama award went to “Pitt Hospital,” and Noah Wyle won the statuette for Best Actor for his role in the series. “The Studio” was named Best Comedy Series.
Rose Byrne won Best Actress (Comedy or Musical). Jean Smart received a special honor for her lead role in the comedy series “Hacks.”
