Xabi Alonso ended his coaching spell at Real Madrid without even completing a full season. On Monday, the Madrid club officially announced it had parted ways with the specialist. The statement came a day after a 2–3 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
Amid Xabi Alonso’s departure, Real Madrid vice-captain Federico Valverde addressed the coach on social media.
“Coach, I wish you and the entire staff, who always approached the job professionally, all the very best. Good luck with all the plans and goals ahead,” Valverde wrote.
According to reports, Real Madrid will now be led by Álvaro Arbeloa.
