Iranian President Pizishkian sent an open letter to the Americans

Iranian President Masoud Pizishian has written an open letter to the Americans, urging them to “look beyond the stream of distorted and artificially created stories.” He said that the question is whether Washington’s policy is truly based on the principle of “America First,” and there are doubts about this.

Pizishian also raised the issue of the possibility that the United States could act as a “proxy” for Israel, given that it is ready to fight “until the last American soldier is left.” The letter was published on the Press TV website on the evening of April 1.

Pizishkian stressed that Iran “has not chosen the path of aggression, expansion, or domination” and is acting only to defend itself. According to him, the perception of Iran as a threat is “the result of political and economic interests.” He also emphasized that Iranians “are not hostile to the people of other countries, including Americans.”

In the letter, the president blamed the US and Israel for the escalation of the war, describing the recent strikes as “aggression” and a “war crime” against civilians. Pizishkian also questioned the benefits of the war for Americans, asking, “What interests does this war serve for the American people?” In his opinion, the world is now at a crossroads of confrontation and interaction, and the outcome of this choice “will determine the future of generations.”

Iranologist Nikita Smagin, in an interview with The Insider, emphasized that decisions on war and peace in Iran are made not by one person, but by the collective of the military-political bloc. In his opinion, the IRGC plays the main role, while other military structures have a significant degree of independence.

Smagin noted that Masoud Pizishkian, although a more moderate figure, does not have real influence and performs more of a decorative function. There is no reliable information about the role and condition of Khamenei's son, Mojtaba Khomeini.
