According to our weekly analysis of the exchange rates announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the upcoming workweek of 2025, the US dollar decreased by 4.71 soums against the national currency – the soum.
Weekly dynamics
The exchange rate of the dollar against the soum underwent certain changes throughout the week. In particular, sharp drops and increases were observed in the first half of the week:
Monday: -79.98 soums
Tuesday: +25.31 soums
Wednesday: +100.50 soums
The upward trend on these days may be related to international market dynamics, import-export operations, and changes in domestic demand.
In the second half of the week, a decline in the exchange rate was recorded:
Thursday: +58.51 soums
Friday: −109.05 soums
As a result, the overall weekly change in the US dollar was positive for the national currency, ending with a decrease of 4.71 soums.
The Central Bank aims to form exchange rates based on market mechanisms and to maintain stability in economic processes. Such fluctuations in the exchange rate are considered indicators of the global economic environment, the volume of foreign trade, and the level of domestic economic activity.
