The traffic accident that occurred in Namangan region once again reminded drivers how important discipline and caution are. On July 23 at around 18:00, the driver of a HOWO brand truck lost control on the Chust–Qoraqo‘rg‘on road and crashed into a shop located in the center of the Yangichak neighborhood of Chust district, according to the regional Road Safety Department's press service.
It can be confidently said that no casualties were recorded among people as a result of the incident. However, both the truck and the shop building suffered serious damage. According to witnesses, the heavy truck, which suddenly went out of control, increased the scale of the damage due to its weight and inertia. Still, the fact that there were few people inside and around the store at the time was probably the main factor that prevented tragic consequences.
According to official information, the driver failed to ensure traffic safety and did not properly assess the situation. This once again shows how serious the threats can be from speeding, driving while tired, and ignoring the technical condition of the road. The exact reasons will be clarified during the preliminary investigation conducted by the Chust District Department of Internal Affairs.
Although the scenario of the traffic accident may seem simple, it is a valuable lesson for every driver and pedestrian. Not exceeding the allowed speed, choosing the correct distance based on road conditions, not driving while tired or drowsy, and regularly checking the technical condition of the vehicle — these are not just recommendations, but strict rules that save lives.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Shop owners were interviewed, and the amount of material damage is being assessed. Insurance mechanisms will be activated, and matters of damage compensation and the responsibility of the guilty party will be resolved within the law. In this, the results of the investigation play a decisive role.
Drivers are reminded once again: operating a heavy vehicle is not the same as a light car — braking distance is longer, the center of gravity is higher, and the load level is greater. Even a momentary loss of attention or negligence of rules can lead to the loss of control over a large vehicle. This in turn can result not only in property damage but also pose a threat to human life.
Those responsible for road infrastructure also have many duties. Installing additional lighting, revising speed limits in dangerous turns and crowded areas, updating road signs, increasing the number of cameras, and conducting regular preventive raids — all are among the most effective prevention methods. Because prevention is always cheaper and more effective than eliminating consequences.
The Road Safety Department reminds: every action on the road is responsibility. And for heavy vehicle drivers, this responsibility is doubled. Speeding, denying fatigue during long trips, and overconfidence are the strongest risk triggers in road rules. Before every trip, checking the braking system, steering, tire condition, and lights must become not a habit, but a rule of life.
Another point: in populated areas, especially near neighborhood centers, shops, bazaars, mosques, and schools — speed must be sharply reduced and road infrastructure elements that protect pedestrians must be respected. Every meter in such areas equals someone's fate.
In conclusion, the accident on the Chust–Qoraqo‘rg‘on road ended without casualties only thanks to luck and coincidence. But one cannot rely on luck. Every driver must remember that they are responsible for their life, the lives of passengers, and those around them. The request of the Road Safety Department, which has become a demand, remains the same: strictly follow the established rules — the road is not a test, but a zone of responsibility. After the preliminary investigation results are announced, the exact causes of the incident will become known. Until then, we must all take this event as a warning — following rules saves lives.
