OKMK head coach Mirjalol Qosimov shared his thoughts about the game after the victory over "Pakhtakor".
“Of course, since we won, there is a very high spirit and a positive mood in our team. This is very important. The inner feelings and atmosphere among the players after the game changed. We had predicted that this clash would be somewhat difficult.
On the field, the fight was serious, and both teams used all their opportunities to achieve success in every moment. If the main referee had added some extra time to the third part, we could have continued to act actively in that section too. But no matter what, we need to analyze the game again and thoroughly identify the mistakes made.
Both teams were forced to change their tactical approaches multiple times during the match. This made the game even more intense and uncompromising. At the same time, I wish good luck to the opposing team — the “lions” — in their next matches.”
What caused the noticeable changes?
During the season, there have been some difficulties in maintaining team stability. Commenting on this situation, the coach said:
“In my opinion, the match against ‘Shurtan’ had a major impact on the team’s overall spirit and the noticeable changes. Also, the breaks due to FIFA days had a certain influence. Now young players are joining our team, and they are showing themselves on the field and fighting for the team’s interests.”
What were the instructions regarding pressing?
“Before today’s match, it is true that the players were instructed to apply high pressing. This was effective in the match during the first round as well. At that time, we also played in this scheme and won. Today, we followed the same style. Because giving even a small chance to a big team like ‘Pakhtakor’ can turn into a big mistake. That’s why we chose this style — to avoid errors.”
Transfer issues and financial constraints
Recently, the team has shown little activity in the transfer market. The specialist commented on this:
“At the moment, we don’t have big possibilities. There are certain financial constraints. So it’s not easy to attract top-level players. However, I have great confidence in the current squad. I believe in their potential and aim to achieve results together with them.”
