The Uzbekistan national team played another friendly match. In a closed-door game, the team led by Fabio Cannavaro faced Surkhon and secured a convincing 4-0 victory.
This match was important for the coaching staff to assess the players' current physical and functional condition, test various tactical options, and provide match practice for the squad.
Igor Sergeyev opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. The experienced striker capitalized on a favorable opportunity to put the national team ahead. While the first half ended with that score, Uzbekistan was more active in attack in the second half.
In the 51st minute, Dostonbek Hamdamov found the back of the net to double the lead. Shortly after, in the 61st minute, Azizbek Amonov added his name to the scoresheet. He scored again in the 82nd minute to complete a brace and seal the final score at 4-0.
It is noted that the coaching staff gave all players an opportunity in this friendly. Through this, Cannavaro and his assistants monitored each player's preparation, movement on the pitch, level of understanding, and adaptation to the team game.
In such matches, the score is important, but the main goal is not just winning. For the coaches, the players' condition, the effectiveness of tactical plans, and the level of competition within the squad are more significant. Nevertheless, a convincing 4-0 victory will certainly have a positive psychological impact on the team.
