The World Chess Championship in rapid and blitz is underway in Doha. Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen won the blitz tournament. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
In the decisive final match, Carlsen defeated Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattorov. The final was fiercely contested and ended 2.5–1.5 in favor of the Norwegian player.
In blitz, the time control is 3 minutes plus a 2-second increment per move. Such games require intense focus and quick decision-making.
Abdusattorov advanced confidently through the rounds and became the only representative of Uzbekistan to reach the final. His result was noted as one of the championship’s most remarkable performances.
Carlsen’s victory in Doha once again confirmed his dominance in fast chess formats. He remains among the players with the most titles in the history of the Rapid and Blitz World Championships.
