Manchester City, who are battling for the Premier League title, have seriously stepped up their efforts to strengthen the squad. The Citizens are very close to signing Antoine Semenyo, regarded as one of the league’s most productive attackers.
According to reports, the Bournemouth winger has reached a full agreement with Manchester City’s hierarchy on personal terms. The deal is set to run for five years, with the player earning around £150,000 per week. That equals £7.2 million per year, with bonuses also included in the contract.
The Guardian reported the news. According to the source, Manchester City will need to pay Bournemouth compensation of around £65 million for Semenyo. This figure also includes loyalty bonuses and agent fees. The club plans to pay the amount in instalments over three years.
This season, Semenyo has featured in 18 matches across all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists, making a major impact for his team. His current contract runs until the summer of 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €65 million.
If the deal is completed, Manchester City will add another dangerous, fast option to their attack — and that’s not good news for their rivals.
