Set-piece goal and Nkunku’s late reply: Fiorentina and Milan draw

In Florence, Fiorentina and Milan played out a 1–1 draw in Serie A round 20. The hosts took the lead from a set piece, but the visitors equalised late on. Kursiv.uz reports. reports .

Early on, the teams mostly battled in midfield: attacks traded back and forth and there were plenty of fouls. Milan looked more proactive going forward, searching for space on the wings and around the edge of the penalty area. Pulisic threatened several times, but the finishing lacked accuracy. In the clearest chance, he went one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a Fullkrug pass, but De Gea kept his side from conceding.

Just before the break, emotions spilled over to the bench as well: Fiorentina head coach Paolo Vanoli was shown a straight red card.

In the second half, the Viola won more second balls and repeatedly tried to make the most of set pieces. In the 67th minute, one of those situations paid off: after Gudmundsson’s corner, Pietro Comuzzo headed the ball in under the post to open the scoring.

Milan responded immediately with substitutions and increased their attacking tempo. Rabiot was booked for a foul that stopped an opposition attack, but the pressure kept growing. In the 89th minute, Christopher Nkunku made it 1–1: Saelemaekers and Fofana sped up the move, and the final shot to the near corner hit the post and went in.
