Atletico Madrid looks to refresh squad by selling Julian Alvarez

Atletico Madrid, under the leadership of sporting director Mateu Alemany, is planning major changes during the summer transfer window. The Spanish club is prepared to consider record-breaking offers for striker Julian Alvarez as part of a plan to rebuild Diego Simeone's squad and attract new stars. This is reported by Goal.com .
The club aims to sign high-caliber players like Bernardo Silva and Cristian Romero to fill the void left after Antoine Griezmann's departure. Having finished the La Liga season in fourth place and reached the Champions League semi-finals, the Madrid side understands the need for a radical squad overhaul.
Julian Alvarez joined the team in 2024 for 75 million euros. Although he managed to score 20 goals this season, he has yet to win a trophy in Madrid. Giants such as PSG, Barcelona, and Arsenal are expected to join the race for the World Cup champion. In particular, PSG considers him an ideal candidate for their star-studded lineup.
The sale of Alvarez would allow Atletico Madrid to finance the transfers of Bernardo Silva, who won every trophy with Manchester City, and Tottenham defender Cristian Romero. The club is also interested in players like Joao Gomes and Marc Cucurella.
Speaking about the situation in the team, Diego Simeone emphasized that he would not interfere with decisions regarding players' futures and that each player chooses their own path. If an offer of over 100 million euros is made for Alvarez, the probability of a transfer is very high.
