Bayern Munich considers new candidates to strengthen defensive line

Bayern Munich's search for a center-back has accelerated significantly in recent weeks, with two main candidates now emerging. The Munich club's summer transfer plans initially seemed straightforward: signing a versatile attacker capable of playing on the left or in the center, and a full-back. However, the club has already faced its first setback. Despite reaching a personal agreement with primary target Anthony Gordon, he joined Barcelona for 80 million euros. This is reported by Goal.com .

Following this, the search for a new center-back who can also operate on the flanks intensified. Recently, Manchester City players John Stones and Josko Gvardiol were mentioned. Sporting director Max Eberl denied interest in John Stones. Instead, the team has shifted its focus to other options.

Ibrahima Konate is expected to leave Liverpool as a free agent in the summer. According to L'Equipe, while Chelsea and Real Madrid have been monitoring the defender for months, the German champions are also showing serious interest. The record champions have already begun negotiations with the player's representatives.

Konate previously formed a solid tandem with Dayot Upamecano at RB Leipzig and for the France national team. Although the pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah is performing effectively in Bayern's defense, changes to the squad may occur. Min-Jae Kim and Hiroki Ito are allowed to leave the team if a suitable offer arrives, leaving only Josip Stanisic in reserve.
