Speeds up to 1 Tbit/s: China to launch 6G networks in 2030

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has announced the official roadmap for 6G technology development in the country. According to the plan, the commercial launch and integration of 6G networks into all sectors of society are scheduled for 2030. With this authorization, research will shift from laboratory tests to real-world urban and industrial scenarios. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Between 2022 and 2025, China successfully completed the first phase of testing core 6G technologies. Currently, the second phase of technical solution verification is being launched in full scale. During this stage, performance validation across all types of scenarios is expected to be completed.

The sixth-generation mobile network (6G) will be a qualitative leap compared to 5G. Experts predict that data transmission speeds could reach from 100 Gbit/s to 1 Tbit/s. This is approximately 50-100 times faster than current 5G networks.

The new technology is distinguished not only by speed but also by minimal latency, with response times dropping to microseconds. Additionally, artificial intelligence technologies will be deeply integrated into 6G systems. As a reminder, it was previously reported that South Korea plans to launch 6G networks in 2028.
