Lukashenko makes a sharp statement about preparing Belarus for war

On Wednesday, April 1, Alexander Lukashenko made a sharp and serious statement at a meeting dedicated to the results of a comprehensive test of the Armed Forces of Belarus. According to him, the country constantly lives in conditions of security threats and the concept of "peaceful times" practically does not exist.
The Belarusian leader described the test as "the most extensive and rigorous test ever conducted." According to him, military units were tested in various difficult conditions - regardless of weather, time and other factors, in an environment as close to combat as possible.

“We are preparing for war. The armed forces are formed and maintained for this very purpose. If someone tries to speak to us in the language of weapons, we are ready to respond,” Lukashenko was quoted as saying.
At the same time, he noted that in the event of a possible conflict, the size of the country's army could be increased to 500,000 people. In his opinion, such preparations are directly related to the aggravation of the geopolitical situation, as well as the threats emerging near the borders of Belarus. Earlier, he assessed the possible attack as “part of the beginning of the Third World War.”

These days, Belarus is also actively moving in the field of foreign policy. In particular, on March 26, an important agreement on friendship and cooperation was signed with Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang. It is emphasized that this document will take relations between the two countries to a new level.
According to official statements, the leader of the DPRK expressed full support for Belarus and expressed his opposition to pressure from Western countries. It was also emphasized that the two countries have similar positions on international issues.

It is worth noting that Belarus and the DPRK have been actively involved in geopolitical processes in recent years. They have provided Moscow with various forms of assistance in Russia's war against Ukraine. In particular, the Minsk region was used as a springboard for military operations in 2022 and some strategic decisions were agreed upon.
In general, this speech by Lukashenko is perceived as an important signal not only for the domestic audience, but also for the international arena. The Belarusian government is taking security issues seriously and is setting as a priority the strengthening of preparedness for potential threats.
