Russian leader Vladimir Putin is expected to pay a one-day visit to China. Reports indicate this visit will take place a few days after US President Donald Trump's high-level trip to Beijing.
According to South China Morning Post sources, Putin's visit to Beijing is scheduled for May 20. The visit is said to be part of regular political exchanges between Moscow and Beijing.
Sources stated that this visit is not expected to involve grand welcomes or elaborate ceremonies. Nevertheless, China hosting both US and Russian leaders in such a short time is drawing international attention.
Analysts believe Beijing is attempting to balance its relations with Washington and Moscow. At the same time, China is positioning itself as a key power center in an increasingly complex global political landscape.
