Salaries of the 'Magnificent Century' cast: who earned the most?

The popular Turkish series "Magnificent Century," which aired in 2011, caused a sensation not only in Turkey but all over the world. This project sparked various opinions and reactions, from ordinary viewers to politicians. Even Recep Tayyip Erdoğan harshly criticized the series, noting that the images of historical figures were misinterpreted.
Nevertheless, the series cemented its place as one of the most successful and profitable projects in the history of the Turkish film industry. Even years later, it maintains its popularity among fans, and new interesting facts about it continue to emerge.
The controversies surrounding the series were mainly related to objections about the distortion of historical truths. The fact that nearly 70,000 complaints were received by various media outlets is evidence of this. Many viewers noted that the project deviated from real historical events and placed excessive emphasis on dramatization.
Another interesting aspect is that only four actors participated in all episodes throughout the series. Among them are the performers who portrayed Sultan Suleiman, the harem aghas Sumbul, Mahidevran Sultan, and Gulfem Hatun. This shows the longevity of the project and the frequent turnover of the cast.
But the topic that attracts the most attention is the actors' salaries. It turns out that Halit Ergenç, who played the role of Sultan Suleiman, received $30,000 per episode. This figure made him the highest-paid actor in the series.

Also, Nur Fettahoğlu, who played the role of Mahidevran Sultan, is among the actresses who received a high salary. She earned $14,000 for each episode.
Thus, "Magnificent Century" continues to attract viewers' attention not only with its plot and historical drama but also with the large salaries of its actors. The fame and financial success that followed the series turned it into a true phenomenon of the Turkish television industry.
