Should the wolf that attacked a woman in Germany be released?

In Hamburg, Germany, a demand was made to release a wolf that attacked a woman. On April 5, animal rights activists took to the streets demanding the release of the wolf. According to Deutsche Welle, the wolf was caught after it attacked a local woman by entering a shopping stall.
The woman was attacked when she tried to open a door. The wolf allegedly bit her face, and she was taken to the hospital.
The wolf was quickly captured and placed in a wildlife protection center. Hamburg's environmental senator, Katharina Fegebank, noted that this incident was the first of its kind in the last decade. According to her, this event could negatively affect the process of restoring the wolf population in the future. She also expressed concerns that if the wolf is released, it may attack again.
However, animal rights activists question whether the wolf actually bit the woman. They claim that witnesses reported that the wolf jumped on the woman but did not bite her. One vendor stated that it appeared the wolf struck her face with its paw.
Activists believe that if the wolf had truly bitten the woman, she would not have been treated only on an outpatient basis. As a result, they are demanding the immediate release of the wolf into the wild.
