Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to increase their mutual trade volume to $2 billion. This goal will be achieved by expanding the range of goods and utilizing the free trade regime.
This agreement was signed during negotiations between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Additionally, the parties discussed the launch of the "Shovot–Dashoguz" border trade zone.
It was also agreed to apply this experience to other regions, including the "Olot–Farab" area. The presidents noted significant progress in the energy sector and agreed to move forward with major projects, including joint development of mineral resources.
The parties plan to develop the Turkmenbashi port and restore direct flights between the capitals. By the end of the year, the countries will hold meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council.
At the conclusion of the talks, the presidents instructed the development of a road map to implement all agreements.
