Former Italy striker Igor Protti began battling a serious illness in 2025. His hopes for 2026 are very simple: no upsetting news throughout the year. This was reported by euro-football.ru.reports.
“Last year was incredibly hard for me. My future is uncertain, so right now I only hope there won’t be any more bad news. I’m grateful to be alive. Good luck to everyone in the new year,” Protti was quoted as saying by calcionapoli1926.it.
Recall that during his career Protti played for clubs such as Bari, Napoli and Lazio. In the 1995/1996 season, he finished as Serie A’s top scorer together with Giuseppe Signori.
