Uzhydromet reported that due to expected precipitation and changes in air temperature, there is a risk of snow avalanches in the mountainous regions of the republic from December 31, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
According to the emergency warning, a high level of risk has been announced in Kashkadarya region (Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shahrisabz districts), Surkhandarya region (Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts), Samarkand region (Nurobod, Koshrabot, Samarkand, Urgut districts), Jizzakh region (Bakhmal, Zomin districts), Tashkent region (Bostanlik, Parkent, Ohangaron districts — the Chatkal mountain range), as well as in the Pop district of Namangan region.
Specialists urge residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling in these directions to exercise caution and limit movement in hazardous zones.
