
At the start of 2025, economists expected the US currency to strengthen sharply, but by year-end the situation turned out to be the opposite. Kursiv Uzbekistan reviewed how the dollar exchange rate changed throughout the year. This was reported by kursiv.uzreports.
On the first day of the year — January 1 — 1 dollar equaled 12,915.18 soums, rising by 10.27 soums in a single day. In early February, the rate climbed to 12,975.05 soums, adding another 18.04 soums.
In March, the trend changed: at the beginning of the month the dollar fell to 12,890.07 soums. In April, the rate rose again to 12,937.16 soums, but in early May the dollar weakened once more, dropping to 12,920.16 soums.
In early June, the rate stood at 12,790.43 soums — one of the lowest levels seen during the year. The decline continued through the summer: in early July the dollar was 12,694.97 soums, and in early August it was recorded at around 12,692.42 soums.
In September, the drop accelerated and the rate fell to 12,422.90 soums. In early October, the dollar became even cheaper at 12,067.76 soums, and in early November it equaled 12,005.09 soums.
In December, signs of a short-term rebound were observed: at the beginning of the month the rate rose to 11,940.95 soums. By year-end, the dollar strengthened slightly, reaching 12,025.33 soums in late December.
Overall, in 2025 the dollar fell by 879.58 soums. A downward trend dominated for most of the year, and the final figure was noticeably lower than at the start of the year.
