Plans to Reduce Poverty and Unemployment in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has set a key goal for the upcoming year to reduce poverty and unemployment rates by 4.5%. To achieve this, a total of 450 trillion soums in loans are planned to be allocated to the economy, of which 140 trillion soums will be directed toward small and medium projects in local communities.

Since the beginning of the year, 261 officials have been dismissed for failing to meet poverty reduction targets, while another 492 individuals have been subject to disciplinary action. The President emphasized that families in the most difficult circumstances are still in dire need of assistance.

To lift approximately 400,000 families out of poverty, deputy governors, employment services, and bank executives, as well as the "mahalla seven" group, need to reassess their work methods.
