The Mortgage Refinancing Company (MRC) will receive 64.5 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the French Development Agency. These funds will be provided by international financial institutions operating in South Asia.
Of the total, 34.5 million euros allocated by the bank will be directed towards supporting the medium-term outlook of the company. This initiative aims to develop the mortgage market and improve access to housing finance.
The majority of the credit will be used to support a "green" renovation program, ensuring the attraction of investments in this sector.
The French Development Agency will provide 30 million euros to the company. These funds will be dedicated to refinancing "green" mortgages for the population of Uzbekistan.
All loan amounts will be distributed in the national currency. Although denominated in foreign currency, these loans will be issued in Uzbek soums to increase access to housing purchases for citizens.
According to MRC Director General Murodjon Farmonov, the company’s international partners place special emphasis on the "green" agenda. He stated that Uzbekistan is striving to implement energy-efficient solutions across the country, from industries to households.
