Deputy khokim of Andijan region Isomiddin Ismanov was detained in his private home while accepting a bribe of 50 thousand US dollars. A source in the prosecutor's office of Kun.uz confirmed this information.
It is reported that the deputy khokim promised a citizen to auction a 20-hectare land plot in the state reserve in the Babur township through the regional Main Department of Construction and Housing and Communal Services and register it in his name, and in the future obtain a construction permit, and in return demanded 50 thousand dollars.
Based on the citizen's application, on April 4, the State Security Service and law enforcement agencies jointly carried out an urgent operation. The deputy governor was detained while receiving the requested funds at his home.
On April 5, the Andijan regional prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case against him under Article 25,168, Part 4, Clause "a" and Article 28,211, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code. The deputy governor was detained in a procedural manner.
Isomiddin Ismanov has been working as the deputy governor of Andijan region for tourism, culture, cultural heritage and mass communications since December 2025.
He previously worked in various positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In particular, in 2022-2025, he served as the deputy head of the Andijan regional police department - head of the public security service. He was also awarded the "For Loyal Services" medal in 2021.
