Major drug smuggling attempt thwarted at Tashkent Airport

An attempt to illegally import synthetic drugs into the country was uncovered at Tashkent International Airport. During a joint operation by the State Security Service (DXX) and the Tashkent-Aero specialized customs complex, the actions of two passengers arriving from abroad raised suspicions.
It is reported that the passengers chose the "green" channel while passing through customs. This channel is typically used to declare that one has no goods requiring formal declaration. However, an inspection revealed prohibited substances in their carry-on luggage.
It was noted that a total of 986 grams of the synthetic drug "Alpha-PVP" was found during the inspection of the carry-on luggage belonging to a citizen of the Russian Federation born in 2006 and a citizen from the Fergana region born in 1988.
The drugs were not in their original form but were hidden inside containers disguised as sports nutrition. This indicates that the organizers of the smuggling operation had devised a meticulous plan to transport the prohibited substance across the border.
According to the information, the seized synthetic substance consisted of two separate batches: one weighing 500 grams and the other 486 grams. The total amount is nearly 1 kilogram, which is considered a very serious criminal offense.
The operation was not limited to the arrests at the airport. Law enforcement agencies continued efforts to identify the individuals behind this chain. As a result, the recipient, a resident of the capital born in 1996, was apprehended while attempting to retrieve the goods from a dead drop in the Sergeli district.
This case once again demonstrates that drug smuggling does not end with simple couriers; it may involve a chain consisting of recipients, suppliers, and distributors.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident. Investigative actions are ongoing. Authorities are examining other individuals involved, the origin of the substance, and its intended recipients.
Experts emphasize that synthetic drugs are extremely dangerous to society. Such substances can cause severe harm to human health and lead to tragic consequences, especially among the youth.
For this reason, law enforcement agencies urge citizens not to remain indifferent to any information regarding the sale, storage, or distribution of drugs. Citizens can report such incidents anonymously to the DXX short number 1520.
In short, the "sports nutrition" disguise did not work this time. Thanks to the vigilance of customs and special services, the entry of dangerous substances into the country was stopped in time. The rule is simple: those who try to circumvent the law will eventually be stopped by the law.
