In Surxondaryo region, a deputy principal of a school in Denov district has been accused of sexually assaulting a 9th-grade student over the course of a year. The Children’s Ombudsman confirmed the initiation of a criminal case and provided updates on the investigation’s monitoring.
According to Kun.uz, the deputy principal committed the crime by threatening the student. The student’s parents learned about the incident in September 2024 and reported it to law enforcement authorities. Following this, an investigation began in collaboration with internal affairs agencies, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The Office of the Children’s Rights Ombudsman noted that the investigation is being conducted with the child’s best interests in mind, and details are not being disclosed.
