A new presidential decree has been published

Within the framework of the national project "Green Space" and on measures to consistently continue reforms in the forest management system and expand green areas, the Presidential Decree (No. PF-90, 05.30.2025) was adopted.

According to the decree, the following target indicators for increasing the germination, viability, and resistance to diseases and pests of tree and shrub seedlings from January 1, 2026 were established:

- organization of mother plantations from plant species suitable for the climatic conditions of the regions of the republic in seed laboratories;

- doubling the volume of seedlings supplied by state forestry enterprises.

From October 1, 2025, the following mechanisms will be introduced to increase public participation in the implementation of the national project "Green Space", ensure openness on the electronic platform "Green Space" and digitalize it:

- population initiative with an indication of the exact area where trees can be planted, water supply, subsequent care options and tree species;

- introduction of a system for keeping records of tree and shrub seedlings planted as compensation by persons who illegally cut down or destroyed valuable varieties of trees and shrubs that are not part of the forest fund.

Starting from November 1, 2025, forest fund land areas will be subject to special protection and their category change will be carried out in accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
