Arsenal defeated Brighton to reach the quarter-finals
London's "Arsenal" team defeated "Brighton" 2-0 and secured a spot in the English League Cup quarterfinals. The goals were scored by Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka.

Mikel Arteta’s team fully controlled the game for much of the second half. The initial minutes of the match were cautious.

Both teams focused on controlling possession and refrained from taking risks in attack. "Brighton" looked a bit more active, but goalkeeper Arrizabalaga confidently dealt with the guests’ long-range attempts.

Towards the end of the first half, the "Gunners" intensified their actions and began creating dangerous opportunities near the goal. Eze and Nwaneri especially stood out with their performances.

Nevertheless, despite the equal number of shots, the score did not change. In the second half, "Arsenal" became much more aggressive.

In the 57th minute, Lewis-Skelly broke into the penalty area and precisely assisted Nwaneri, who struck low into the corner to open the scoring — 1:0. This goal pushed the "Seagulls" to attack, but their attacks were disorganized.

The Londoners made effective use of open spaces and launched quick counterattacks. In the 76th minute, Bukayo Saka, who came off the bench, put the ball in the net after a save from goalkeeper Steele — 2:0.

In the final minutes, the hosts kept full control over the tempo of the game. Trossard was close to making the score bigger, but his long-range shot bounced off the crossbar.

With this victory, "Arsenal" advanced to the quarterfinals of the League Cup. Arteta’s team demonstrated a mature and disciplined performance, while "Brighton" was unable to compete in the second half.

The young players of the "Gunners" once again put in a confident display, while Bukayo Saka confirmed his status as leader in the attack line.
