Due to the expected precipitation and changes in air temperature on January 27-30 of this year, there is a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of the republic. Uzhydromet issued an urgent warning about this. Experts emphasize the importance of strengthening precautionary measures on mountain roads and high-altitude areas during these days.
In particular, avalanche danger is declared in the following areas:
- Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shakhrisabz districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
- Samarkand region: Nurabad, Koshrabad, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
- Jizzakh region: Bakhmal, Zaamin districts;
- Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, Akhangaran districts (mountains of the Chatkal Range);
- Namangan region: Pop district.
According to Uzhydromet, citizens living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers moving in mountainous areas are asked to take precautionary measures. Especially when driving on mountain roads, it is recommended to reduce speed, stay away from dangerous slopes, and plan trips taking into account weather conditions.
