At the Asian Futsal Cup, which is taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia, the team missed the group stage. Now the most interesting part of the tournament begins - the playoffs, that is, the "one game - one fate" period.
The final round of Group D matches also prepared this drama. The group leader, Iran, secured a convincing 5-2 victory against Afghanistan, securing first place with 9 points. In this match, the Iranians did not lose control of the game: Azimi opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Tayebi scored consecutive goals in the 29th and 30th minutes, one from a penalty. In the end, Yusuf and Karimi also contributed, making the result look beautiful.
Afghanistan didn't give up either: between the 32nd and 33rd minutes, Huseynpur and Safari scored the return goals, trying to restore the game's intrigue. However, Iran's experience and pace have put the situation on track.
In the second group match, Saudi Arabia defeated Malaysia 6-1. Thus, the Saudis took third place with 3 points, and Malaysia, which did not score a single point, finished last in the group.
Thus, the table in group D is formed as follows:
- Iran - 9 points (1st place)
- Afghanistan - 6 points (2nd place)
- Saudi Arabia - 3 points (3rd place)
- Malaysia - 0 points (4th place)
Most importantly, the second-placed Uzbekistan national team in Group C will face the winner of Group D, Iran, in the quarterfinals. This clash gives a "early final" mood from the start: the opponent is strong, but in such games you see the character of the team.
For information, the quarter-final matches will be held on February 3. Now all attention is on Uzbekistan's fight against Iran. That's what a fan needs: struggle, speed, and faith to the end.
