
The Uzbekistan national team continues its successful participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh. Uzbek athletes have secured gold and silver medals in taekwondo, fencing, and athletics, strengthening the country's standing in the overall medal table.
Diyorbek Toxliboyev brought another gold medal to Uzbekistan. Competing in the 67 kg weight category, he defeated his Turkish opponent in the final to become the champion of the competition.
Another gold medal was won by Marat Mavlonov. He triumphed in the over 82 kg weight category, defeating a Kazakh contender and adding another gold to the delegation’s tally.
Svetlana Osipova competed in the women’s over 70 kg weight category. In the final, she missed her chance against a Turkish athlete and settled for a silver medal.
In the men’s fencing finals, two Uzbek athletes, Meyirkhon To‘raxonov and Javohir Nurmatov, faced off against each other. To‘raxonov emerged victorious, securing the delegation’s twentieth gold medal.
In the women’s final, Guliston Perdiboyeva competed for a gold medal but lost to her Turkish rival with a score of 8:15, taking second place instead. Sharifa Davronova won a silver medal in the triple jump competition.
She finished in second place with a result of 13.91 meters.
