
On December 5, 2025, the London Chess Classic international chess tournament concluded in London. This event marked a historic achievement for Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov.
He demonstrated dominance in matches against his opponents and secured the championship title ahead of schedule. Nodirbek won six consecutive games during the tournament, maintaining a two-point lead over his closest competitors.
His confident play allowed him to control the standings from the beginning to the end of the tournament. In the penultimate round, the Uzbek chess player drew against Alireza Firouzja.
This result was sufficient for Nodirbek to officially claim the championship title one round before the tournament's conclusion.
