Participation in the “Miss Earth 2025” contest cost an Uzbek girl dearly

An administrative decision was issued in Tashkent on a case of disrespect for state symbols. Kun.uz, having familiarized itself with the court documents, reports that Sh., a citizen born in 2004 in the Fergana region, was brought to administrative responsibility for the offense.

According to the court decision, Sh. participated in the “Miss Earth 2025” contest held in Manila, Philippines, on October 28, 2025. She appeared at the event in a dress depicting the state flag and coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan and posted a photo of herself in this dress on her personal page on the social network.

During the trial, the girl partially admitted her guilt. According to her, she sewed the dress inspired by the state flag and coat of arms, but it did not reflect the symbols of the flag - a crescent moon and 12 stars. At the same time, he did not deny that the sequence of colors could resemble the state flag and asked the court to grant leniency.

In the end, by the decision of the Mirabad District Court of the Administrative Offenses Department dated January 19, 2026, Sh. was found guilty of violating the requirements of the legislation on state symbols, an offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 203-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. He was fined 2 times the minimum wage, that is, 824 thousand soums (the minimum wage is 412,000 soums).

This incident reminds us once again: both creativity and the "national spirit" are both beautiful and safe when they are in accordance with the law.
