How many foreigners moved to Uzbekistan in the first three months of this year?

Uzbekistan is increasingly attracting people from around the world with its unique hospitality, peace, and economic appeal. According to the latest analysis by the Statistics Agency, in the first quarter of 2026 (January–March), for the purpose of permanent residence in our country 721 foreign citizens have moved.

Which countries are the most migrants coming from?

Citizens of neighboring and close partner countries lead the list of those choosing our country as their new homeland. Statistical data shows the following figures:

  • Russia: The absolute majority of those who moved, namely 34.1 percent account for this country.

  • Kazakhstan: Second place on the list — 19.7 percent.

  • Tajikistan: Completing the top three — 12.2 percent.

  • Kyrgyzstan: Of the total share 4.9 percentaccounted for.

  • Turkmenistan: Those arriving from the brotherly country — 3.7 percent.

The remaining 25.4 percent of migrants are foreigners visiting from various other countries of the world.

Tashkent city — the absolute leader

It has also become clear which regions of Uzbekistan are most attractive to guests arriving from abroad. Our capital, with its infrastructure that fully meets international requirements, is clearly leading in this regard.

The distribution by region is as follows:

  1. Tashkent city: Within three months, it welcomed more than half of the total figure, namely 454 foreigners.

  2. Tashkent region: In this pleasant and comfortable area, 126 people settled for permanent residence.

  3. Republic of Karakalpakstan: To this land with its unique culture, 56 citizens moved.

Foreigners have also been registered in other historical and industrial regions of our country. Specifically, 14 new residents appeared in Samarkand, and 11 each in the beautiful Fergana Valley and ancient Khorezm.

Also, 10 people started a new life in Sirdaryo, 9 in the mining region of Navoi, and 8 in legendary Bukhara. In Andijan, which differs in climate and social environment, 6 foreigners registered, while 5 each registered in Jizzakh, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions. The lowest figure in this regard was observed in the large oasis region of Kashkadarya — only 1 foreign citizen arrived there for permanent residence in three months.

Such indicators clearly prove that Uzbekistan is becoming not only a tourist destination but also a safe and promising place for permanent residence, work, and raising a family.

In your opinion, what is the main reason for foreigners choosing our country for permanent residence: Uzbek hospitality or new economic opportunities?
