A new project is planned for the Tashkent Metro to further enhance passenger safety. According to the plan, glass safety barriers will be installed on metro station platforms.
Initially, this system is expected to be implemented on a trial basis at the Shahriston metro station. Experts emphasize that these barriers will help prevent dangerous incidents, such as passengers falling onto the tracks.
According to reports, glass safety barriers can reduce potential hazardous situations on platforms by 80–90 percent. If the project proves effective, it is likely to be gradually installed at other stations as well.
