Shavkat Mirziyoyev Sends Important Message to Eurasia Summit

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a message to the participants of the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit held in Istanbul. In his address, the head of state emphasized that this prestigious forum has become an important dialogue platform that brings together politicians, business circles, experts, and representatives of the international community.
The President noted that holding the Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul has deep symbolic meaning. This historic city has been known for centuries as a bridge connecting Europe and Asia, and a vital center where cultures, peoples, and economic relations intersect. Today, Istanbul remains a symbol of interregional cooperation, economic dialogue, and cultural rapprochement.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction that the strategic idea of the "Century of Turkey," promoted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in modern Turkey, is being consistently implemented. The head of state emphasized that Turkey is actively participating in solving urgent problems on the international stage and is gaining a prestigious and reliable position on the global agenda.
The message also highlighted that relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey have reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. President Mirziyoyev noted that President Erdoğan's firm will and consistent efforts have played a crucial role in this process. The cooperation between the two countries, based on equality, trust, mutual respect, and sustainable development, fully aligns with the main goals of the Eurasian Economic Summit.
This year's summit agenda focuses on water scarcity, "green" resources, and global environmental responsibility. The head of state stressed that the world is facing serious risks related to climate change. Desertification, soil erosion, depletion of water reserves, and environmental degradation are becoming common problems not only for individual countries but for all of humanity.
It was noted that these processes are particularly acute in Central Asia. The rate of temperature increase in the region is higher than the global average, glaciers are shrinking, and soil degradation is intensifying. In such conditions, ensuring environmental sustainability has become a priority for the development of New Uzbekistan.
The President highlighted that 200 million trees are planted annually under the "Yashil Makon" (Green Space) project, and vast green protective zones are being created on the dried bed of the Aral Sea. These efforts are an important step aimed not only at protecting nature but also at creating a healthy and safe environment for future generations.
It was also announced that Uzbekistan is gradually transitioning to a "green" development model. The country aims to reduce harmful emissions by 35 percent and reach 50 percent by 2035. Consistent measures are being taken to rationally manage water resources, introduce water-saving technologies, and use natural resources efficiently.
President Mirziyoyev stated that Uzbekistan will continue to actively promote the "green" agenda and contribute to finding practical solutions to global environmental risks. In this regard, the head of state invited summit participants to attend international events held in our country, including the Global Environment Facility Assembly and the World Water Conservation Forum in Samarkand.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that joint efforts will make a practical contribution to the international climate cooperation agenda, including the preparation process for the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference.
The President stated that Uzbekistan is always open to comprehensive cooperation and is ready to continue actively participating in strengthening sustainable development, environmental security, and interregional partnership.
In short, Shavkat Mirziyoyev's message to the participants of the Eurasian Economic Summit resonated not only as a diplomatic dialogue but as an important environmental and economic call for the future. In today's world, "green development" is no longer a choice, but a necessity. Uzbekistan is demonstrating its position on this path with clear, reliable, and practical steps.
