Social Protection System for Military Personnel Being Strengthened

At the latest session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, a crucial document for our defenders protecting the country's borders — the draft law "On the Status of Military Personnel and Their Social Protection" — was discussed in the first reading. This law aims to strengthen the legal status of military personnel and elevate their social security to a new level.
Unified Legal Status and Obligations
The new draft law establishes common and clear rules for military personnel across all ministries and agencies within the Armed Forces. It reinforces specific provisions regarding the granting and revocation of military status, adherence to service discipline, and the nuances of duty performance. This will serve to form a unified and transparent system in the sector.
Modern Social Support Mechanisms
The document provides for a series of important guarantees for the comprehensive support of military personnel and their family members:
Housing and Pension Provision: Issues regarding the provision of housing for military personnel and ensuring decent pensions in old age are guaranteed at the legislative level.
Medical and Financial Assistance: Medical services, state insurance, and the opportunity to receive financial assistance once a year in the amount of up to 100 times the base calculation amount (BHM) are being created.
Protection and Compensation: The procedure for paying compensation to the families of military personnel who have suffered health damage or died while performing their duties will be further simplified and strengthened.
Special Benefits for Veterans
Veterans who have faithfully fulfilled their duty to the Motherland are not forgotten in the draft law. Specifically, for military personnel with at least 20 years of service who have been discharged to the reserve, it is planned to introduce a procedure for providing vouchers to sanatoriums once a year with a 75% discount. This is planned to be implemented.
"This document will serve to increase the prestige of military service while strengthening every defender's confidence in their future."
This draft law, which was actively discussed by deputies, was approved in the first reading. Work to further improve the document will now continue.
Do you think these benefits for military personnel will further increase interest in the military sector among young people?
