A video shot by American police officer Richard Craig has gone viral on TikTok. The video shows a pizza delivery guy walking in snowy weather wearing light sneakers and a sweater.
According to reports, a severe snowstorm occurred that day in the US state of Indiana. 20-year-old local courier Connor Stefanoff was engaged in pizza delivery. He said that due to the snow, he had to walk a kilometer to deliver one of the orders. Although Connor delivered the pizza on time, he only received a $2 tip.
The situation angered Richard Craig. He gave Connor all the money he had — $15 — and then shared the incident on TikTok.
“I was shocked. It was almost impossible to walk on the roads. I thought I had to film what this kid was doing, because if I told him orally, people wouldn’t believe me,” the policeman told The Washington Post about the incident.
Craig’s subscribers offered to raise money for Connor on the GoFundMe platform. The policeman expected to collect at least $500. But in two weeks, almost $40,000 in donations were collected for the courier.
Connor said he lives with his grandmother. His salary was barely enough to cover utility bills. The young man plans to spend part of the donated money on buying a car. He plans to use some of it for college and the rest for charity.
Connor's company, Rockstar Pizza, allows its delivery drivers to stay home during inclement weather. But he decided to go to work anyway. He says he wouldn't have done it any other way if his actions hadn't drawn attention.
"Treat others the way you want to be treated," he says. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
