The Israeli Public Prosecutor's Office has officially announced the launch of a criminal investigation into Sara, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She is suspected of organizing a campaign against key witnesses in her husband's case, as well as interfering in the trial.
The investigation was reportedly launched after a report by Channel 12. According to a journalistic investigation, Sara Netanyahu asked Hanni Bleiweis, the former assistant to the prime minister, to organize an online protest and campaign against Hadas Klein, a key witness in the case of Benjamin Netanyahu.
The investigation involved police officers and employees of the Israeli Attorney General's Office's Cybercrime Unit. Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara ordered the investigation on December 26. Sara Netanyahu's lawyer called the case a "politicized witch hunt."
In 2019, Sara Netanyahu was found guilty of misappropriating nearly $50,000 in public funds. At that time, the prime minister's wife was fined $15,000.
It should be recalled that in November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. The ICC suspects Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
On January 27 of this year, Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Tel Aviv District Court to attend hearings in three reopened cases on bribery, fraud, and breach of public trust. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
