The fourth International Sculpture Symposium "Samarkand-2025" has commenced in Samarkand as part of the CITES CoP20 framework. The event aims to promote environmental awareness, foster international creative collaboration, and enhance urban spaces through natural art.
This year, more than 300 sketches were submitted by 150 sculptors from 73 countries to participate in the symposium. Out of these, 17 works were selected.
Nearly 20 artisans from Oman, Iran, Turkey, China, India, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Japan, and Uzbekistan are crafting marble sculptures, which will later be installed in the parks of Samarkand and Tashkent.
Workshops and facilities necessary for the artists have been set up in the "Jannat Makon" (Paradise Place) park. Until December 7, meetings and master classes will be held at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage as well as the Samarkand Tourism Academy.
CoP20 event participants will also have the opportunity to witness the symposium and an exhibition dedicated to unique plant and animal species. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
